1331) Three Cheers for Seven of Nine

07:27, Today’s Plan:- Wait for my friend to pick up his mail, buy a nut and bolt to secure my mudguard more securely, see the doc in Bicester, Dr Smita Pandit, attend a talk and discussion at the MIND drop-in centre at the Kaleidoscope Centre on how to manage money, do some UNA work before attending a committee meeting, and after that, who knows?

I noticed just now that “September”, the 9th month, is based on the latin word for Seven, Seven of Nine! That is of course the name of the character, played by Jeri Ryan in the Star Trek spin-off series, “Star Trek: Voyager”, an ex-Borg, trying to learn to rediscover her lost humanity.

09:48, My WMP seems to have stopped working, so no music from my laptop, for the time being. So for music, just DVDs like “Total Recall” and VHS like “The IPCRESS File”. (WMP = Windows Media Player).

12:56, I seems that I am clocking up secrets, two now, about which I will not write on electronic media. Put THAT in your pipe and smoke it, WIN! (World Intelligence Network (from “Joe 90” in 1968)).

Hi Pete! Here is your Daily Horoscope for Wednesday, September 1
“A sweet temptation comes your way today — one that you are almost certainly better off resisting. It may be tough, but you can find the willpower if you tap into your deepest reserves.”

Hi Pete! Here is your Daily Single’s Horoscope for Wednesday, September 1
“Pay attention to any side comments and funny quirks. Some odd little detail in an otherwise uninteresting online profile or something minor they say is absolutely worth further exploration.”

Hi Pete! Here is your Daily Couple’s Horoscope for Wednesday, September 1
“Try to make sure you’re being as careful as you can with financial issues — especially if the two of you share money in any way. Even feelings about cash can be hard to deal with!”

1330) The Limits of Unbridled Enthusiasm

17:56, Today’s plan was to go to Restore in the morning, Temple Cowley Pool with “Activate” in the afternoon, Westgate Library, where I am now, and then the St Aldate’s Parish Centre for pizza and prayers at 19:30. But the swimming didn’t materialize since the beginning of term hasn’t happened yet. Next Tuesday afternoon is Activate’s first swimming session this term.

22:55, Prayers and pizza at the St Aldate’s Parish Centre was wonderful; food from Sarah and socializing was followed by a prayer from Ephesians by Paul, which Sarah had prepared, followed by extemporaneous prayers in small groups. With Alice and Claire I contributed some snippets of Baha’i prayers as well as a couple of extemporaneous ones, and the whole evening was suffused by divine love.

This morning this quotation came to mind:- “Assist Thy Lord to the utmost of Thine ability, and pay no heed to the peoples of the world, for that which their mouths utter is like unto the droning of a gnat in an endless valley.” (Baha’u’llah, The Summons of the Lord of Hosts, p. 10)

To me this refers not only to the droning of trumpets like a swamp of bees and wasps at the World Cup in RSA, but also to the potential open sewer of verbal diarrhea running through my living room, all the guff of Eastenders, X Factor and Big Brother, the “bread and circuses” of western so-called civilization, emotionally, financially, spiritually, intellectually, morally, psychologically, philosophically and scientifically bankrupt,  and all the sentimental emotional blackmail on the BBC News about the suffering of the peoples of the world without a word of the solution, all the crap poured forth endlessly in the form of academic doctoral theses and dissertations.

“9:8 Their tongue is as an arrow shot out; it speaketh deceit: one speaketh peaceably to his neighbour with his mouth, but in heart he layeth his wait.” (King James Bible, Jeremiah)

“9:8 Their tongue is a deadly arrow; it speaks with deceit. With his mouth each speaks with cordially to his neighbour, but in his heart he sets a trap for him.”

Mission India:- “Pretending to be nice to someone’s face while dragging their name their the mud behind their back – you’ve done it. You will do it again. Why do we talk negatively about people when they are not present?”

“Say: Beware, O people of Baha, lest ye walk in the ways of them whose words differ from their deeds.” (Baha’u’llah, Gleanings from the Writings of Baha’u’llah, p. 305)

“A kindly tongue is the lodestone of the hearts of men. It is the bread of the spirit, it clotheth the words with meaning, it is the fountain of the light of wisdom and understanding.” (Baha’u’llah, Epistle to the Son of the Wolf, p. 15)

“Nothing whatsoever can, in this Day, inflict a greater harm upon this Cause than dissension and strife, contention, estrangement and apathy, among the loved ones of God.” (Baha’u’llah, Gleanings from the Writings of Baha’u’llah, p. 8)  I have a question, how on earth can a p. 8 become an emoticon wearing sunglasses? To me that beggars belief, and my inner Sherlock seeks explanations in covert mysterious goings-on. And also, why has it now disappeared and reverted to p. 8?

“…backbiting quencheth the light of the heart, and extinguisheth the life of the soul.” (Baha’u’llah, Gleanings from the Writings of Baha’u’llah, p. 265)

“Breathe not the sins of others so long as thou art thyself a sinner.” (Baha’u’llah, The Arabic Hidden Words)

“Speak no evil, that thou mayest not hear it spoken unto thee, and magnify not the faults of others that thine own faults may not appear great;” (Baha’u’llah, The Persian Hidden Words)

“O SON OF BEING! How couldst thou forget thine own faults and busy thyself with the faults of others? Whoso doeth this is accursed of Me.” (Baha’u’llah, The Arabic Hidden Words, No 26)

Hi Pete! Here is your Daily Couple’s Horoscope for Tuesday, August 31
“Your blithe assumptions might cause problems today. Check in and make sure you and sweetie are on the same page. You can avoid misunderstandings with a quick word.”

Hi Pete! Here is your Daily Horoscope for Tuesday, August 31
A freaky situation pops up that demands your complete attention — but it might not pay off. Sometimes you need to just accept that all your magic powers need time to recharge every now and then.
Hi Pete! Here is your Daily Single’s Horoscope for Tuesday, August 31
“A big emotional risk might not pay off all that well, whereas a little exploration could reveal more interesting possibilities. Don’t force anything — instead, give yourself some room to breathe.”

Monday (Summer Bank Holiday), 30th August, 2010 AD
.
1329) “Steady as She Goes, Mr Chekov!”

Today’s Plan in brief:- Its a B E A U tiful day for a Bank Holiday is B E A U tiful sunny downtown Kidlington! Awaiting a friend picking up his mail, then cycling to Dorchester Abbey, to see a friend’s carpentry, then to Open Door at St Ebbe’s for 15:00, then to Florence Park for a study of St John’s Gospel at 19:30.

22:18, An emergency came up and all the above activities had to be shelved, and I had to rush off to deal with the emergency and successfully too I might add. But I’m not at liberty to discuss it, so there we are.

“34:18 Seemeth it a small thing unto you to have eaten up the good pasture, but ye must tread down with your feet the residue of your pastures? and to have drunk of the deep waters, but ye must foul the residue with your feet?” (King James Bible, Ezekiel)

“34:18 Is it not enough for you to feed on the good pasture? Must you also trample the rest of your pasture with your feet? Is it not enough for you to drink clear water? Must you also muddy the rest with your feet?” (New International Version)

“34:18 You already eat in the best grasslands. Must you also stomp all over the other fields? You already drink clear water. Must you also make the rest of the water muddy with your feet” (New International Reader’s Version)

Mission India:- “Maybe you are not selfish- doing only for yourself, knowing it will hurt others. But perhaps sometimes you are self-absorbed – doing only for yourself not knowing it will hurt others. You don’t see that you are hurting others because your mind is on yourself. In what situatiuons do you think you can  be self-absorbed?”

Hi Pete! Here is your Daily Horoscope for Monday, August 30
“It’s one of those weird days when you feel that your people are making life a little more difficult than they really should — but you can’t do anything about it! Try to just roll with the punches.”

Hi Pete! Here is your Daily Single’s Horoscope for Monday, August 30
“Turn your perspective inside-out, though it rather difficult for the time being — you sometimes get too entrenched in your own P.O.V. When you do, there’s a great reward for your heart and soul.”

Hi Pete! Here is your Daily Couple’s Horoscope for Monday, August 30
“Try to let your partner lead the way, even if you’re arguing over something that’s vital to you. It will be amazing how much the end result syncs up with your ideal, even if you think you’ve lost.”

1328) Sunday, Smokin’!!!

04:51, Such an enthusiastic and optimistic characterization of today may have been unrealistic. I just dreamed that I was employed but that “Sir”, my manager, though kindly, in his attitude, had been very clear with me in that he had to “let me go”, and I was shortly to become unemployed again. I then found myself as a passenger in a large, plush American 4 by 4, parked in a petrol station; the owner had left it there, with me inside, to go to take care of another vehicle of theirs. A police officer, dressed in yellow came to inquire, and I explained. The officer asked if the American owner had problems, and I replied that I wasn’t thinking about that possibility, since I had problems of my own. When I awoke and remembered the above fragments, I felt the economic reality of my situation more acutely, reminding me of a look of anxiety on a friend in a cinema, when I had announced that I was keen to relinquish my civil service job to find something more to my liking, as if the economic reality of my situation, aged 54, medical history etc etc, was one in which finding an alternative would be difficult if not impossible. Time will tell.

06:16, Soundtrack:- Normans of the South, in Southern Italy and Sicily, and via the Crusades in Antioch and Jerusalem. Then more Matt Monro, the 2nd LP out of 4 recorded to cassette.

07:52, and the apprehension from the mildly bad dream has lifted and enthusiasm for the day ahead is in full swing. Today’s plan, 10:30 morning service at St Aldate’s, evening services at 18:00 and 20:15, with HA in between, entailing 4 journeys between Oxford and Kidlington, each of 30 minutes (bi)cycling, and HA consisting of 30 minutes writing PIOT (Peace in Our Time?) and other assorted projects. As Humphrey Ampleton, the civil servant would say, “Any questions, Minister?” Matt Monro LP 3… “I don’t do irony, all you need to do is hang things out to dry and no irony is needed; I LOVE ironing; it makes me laugh something chronic; it just appeals to my dry sense of humour!”

08:21 Reciting “Allah’u’Abha” 95 times is still hypnotic and soporific, maybe because I had only 5 hours 22 minutes of sleep last night, less than 5 hours 44 the previous night, though THAT included a long cat-nap of 1 hour 40, which I haven’t had today yet. Getting to bed relatively early, last night, at 23:17 was a good move!

“2:12 Having your conversation honest among the Gentiles: that, whereas they speak against you as evildoers, they may by your good works, which they shall behold, glorify God in the day of visitation.” (King James Bible, 1 Peter)

“2:12 Live such good lives among the pagans that, though they accuse you of doing wroing, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day he visits us.” (New International Version)

“2:12 Always let others see you behaving properly, even though they may still accuse you of doing wrong. Then on the Day of Judgment, they will honour God by telling the good things they saw you do.” (Contemporary English Version)

Mission India:- “Sometimes people believe and see the worst in you no matter what you do. Don’t get discouraged and give up. In the end, the truth will be revealed. When were you accused of something you didn’t do?”

The 4 Matt Monro LPs recorded onto a cassette tape by my ex-DWP/JCP colleague Diane Harris in about 1989 are:-

1) Matt Monro sings Hoagy Carmichael
2) Matt for You
3) The Capitol Years
4) Softly as I Leave You

09:44, Now to pack for church; T minus 6 minutes!

17:13, The subject of the sermon at the 10:30 was the “theophany” of Ezekiel in Chapter 1 of his book. The 4 faced, 4 winged, 4 handed, 4 living creatures, above which was seen the Almighty on His Throne. Theophany, by the way, means a meeting of God. Previous sermons were about such experiences of Moses on Mount Sinai and Isaiah. Afterward I met an old friend whom I’d originally met when I was in Wintle in 2008, when he was in Vaughn Thomas. He’s going through the mill, still. It was good to meet up with him and catch up. I collected a book promised to me to borrow about loneliness potentially leading us to God, by another friend I’d met at St Aldates a fortnight or so ago. Then I cycled to Wolvercote Cemetery to say some prayers and met an old Baha’i friend who I’d not chatted to for some years. Then I bought some Sainsbury’s groceries, went home, unpacked and caught up with admin, at which time, without doing any HA, as usual, its now time to scarper again for the evening service!

23:08, The subject of the 18:00 service was tender-heartedness. Afterward I had a drink with my friend Malcolm, though we seemed to have nothing in common where gender politics is concerned.

1327) Total Recall, Prophetic Prediction

05:19, Today’s Plan:- 09:00 to 16:45, HA, 16:45 leave 48W, attend Qur’an class and iftar (breaking if the Fast) in Summertown. Simples!

Turned on the TV earlier to watch the closing scenes of “Outbreak” starring Dustin Hoffman, M0rgan Frreman, Rene Russo and Donald Sutherland, Dustin saving the US President from being complicit in an act of genocide against a whole population of innocent American citizens in the name of a bogus call for the “interests of national security” by the global elite pulling the strings of the military.

Oxford Star, 26/8 to 1/9:- “The great news is that longer term plans can start to be clarified, but there may just be a few more twists and turns before you can really roar forwards, which will happen from the 9th September. If there has been confusion in your love life, here too things will start to clarify.”

Mission India for 28th August:-

“88:13 But unto thee have I cried, O LORD; and in the morning shall my prayer prevent thee. (Psalms, King James Bible)

88:13 But I cry to you for help, O Lord; in the morning my prayer comes before you. (Psalms, New International Version)

Do you need help today? Do you want help today? Ask for it. Do it now. In what area of your life do you need help?”

Mr Faizi’s calligraphy:- Concerning the Divine Musician’s manifestation of love, how astonishing its melody, and the illumination emanating therefrom; along the journey of the Wayfarer in the Path of God, the eight-chord melody, played and sung produces the sound of Salvation.”

Recitation of 95 x “Allah’u’Abha to the eight bar tune of Gyenyame/Islington.

The Long Obligatory Prayer

“Baha’i Readings” from Canada, “Nearness to God”, “Baha’i Daybook” and “Sacred Moments.”

“Baha’i Prayers for Women”, the “China Tablet” and the “Prayer for Employment” both from “Star of the West”, prayer for Oxford, Oxfordshire, Thames Valley from the 17th IPG, prayer for the UK on pages 90 to 92 of the 2002 US prayer book, prayer to strengthen my bad back, number 2 from the “Tablets of the Divine Plan”, “The Tablet of Ahmad”, to deal with the NHS, the “Remover of Difficulties”, to feel closer to ‘Abdu’l-Baha, His “Tablet of Visitation”, and Baha’u’llah, the “Fire Tablet”. It remains to be seen how much of this I can reach without becoming extremely tired.

15:12, I managed reciting Mr Faizi’s calligraphy, 95As, the China Tablet, the Prayer for Employment  and that was it. Reciting “Allah’u’Abha” 95 times has quite a hypnotic effect and often makes me realize just how tired I really am. I entertained myself during the day with a DVD biography of English singing star of the early 60s, Matt Monro, 4 episodes of “Black Books” starring Bill Bailey, Dylan Moran and Tamsin Green, “Ice Station Zebra” starring Rock Hudson, Ernest Borgnine and Patrick McGoohan, and suddenly I’m tired again. Spent all my HA time so far filing papers from CNCF packets in my newly available and recently expanded filing capacity.

22:08 The MECO Qur’an class and small-scale iftar was smokin’!! So exciting and I flew home to listen to Matt Monro on cassette tape at warp factor 25!

Hi Pete! Here is your Daily Horoscope for Saturday, August 28

“It’s tempting to rush in. Frankly, it’s irresistible. You and your darling want to jump in right away. The stars say to go for it. Your instincts are impeccable and whatever happens next, you’ll have a great time.”
Hi Pete! Here is your Daily Single’s Horoscope for Saturday, August 28
“A systematic approach to romance may seem contradictory, but it’s exactly what your energy demands now. Online dating sites help you identify hotties with potential, one by one. Find the right one!”

1326) Insulation from the World

07:20, Today’s Plan:-

09:50 leave 48W, 10:30 get refund through part-exchange for wrong-size suspension files at Ryman’s, 11:0o deliver Ruhi Books to Oxford, leave Oxford by 12;40, 13:00 MECO juma and khutbah (Friday prayers and sermon) in Summertown, 15:00 go home, do some HA including clearing a space for a 3-drawer filing cabinet, 20:45 get a lift to Yarnton, 21:00 pick up 3-drawer filing cabinet, fill it.

Any questions, Mr President?

17:23, a fairly productive day, if relaxed and unstressful. Dropped off the foreign  Ruhi books 20 minutes late, then went to Rymans for the part exchange of unused A4 files for foolscap, then to Summertown library to organize myself for the coming week, before the salat al-jumu’ah and khutbah at 13:00, Friday prayers with a sermon to the likes of you and me, with good news from Germany, where councils host and hold iftars (breaking of the Fast in the month of Ramadan) for local Muslim Communities, at least in Berlin and Munich, and where the Ramadan Fast is being celebrated like Christmas by the wider community. Unlike Chechnya, where women are harrassed by beard-wearing, bead-fondling, gun-toting Wahabi extremists into wearing a headscarf in Grosny during Ramadan on pain of being punched in the face or paint-balled if they refuse to follow this insane un-Qur’anic woman-hating hadith, Turkey refuses to allow women to wear headscarves in government buildings. And in Iran, a chief ayatollah has declared dogs so “unclean” that keeping them as pets is now banned. Nothing to do with rabies, just the same dog-hating, woman-hating hadith writer who had the reputation of being a liar in the eyes of Ayesha and Umar, and who had known Mohammad personally for only two years. And totally un-Qur’anic as usual like all hadiths promoted by the mad mullahs. After the jumu’ah, I bought some Sainsbury’s groceries, all healthy stuff this time, went home, cooked a meal and prepared for a little HA (Home Activity) in the form of 10 pages read from “Mindsight” by Daniel Siegel.

21:01, picked up the 3-drawer cabinet from Yarnton, as planned, with a veritable plethora of foolscap suspension files, so I’ll enjoying seventh filing heaven, categorizing and filing the veritable gamut of cardboard boxes full of A4 containing a veritable cornucopia of printed and written information, in my flat and storage cupboard. I wanted to listen to “The Dream”, the opening Jerry Goldsmith music of one of my favorite films of all time, Philip K Dick’s “Total Recall”, but since “Spotify” is to me now defunct, I had to watch the DVD, and using a TV cabinet, discarded outside my flat, was enjoying the Arnie mayhem on Mars, when Steve picked me up to fetch the 3-drawer. Back from Yarnton, and with more food, “Total Recall” is back on as the background soundtrack and entertainment. “Mindsight”? Got up to page xiv in the introduction so far; sound great stuff so far.

23:57, I feel quite happy with things as they are developing, and although there is no possibility of discussing the details with anyone but Him, Baha’u’llah, things are working out well, better than I would have ever imagined could be real, empirical and verifiably true.

Hi Pete! Here is your Daily Horoscope for Friday, August 27
“You reach out without thinking to help a friend or coworker in need — and score major points as a result! You may not feel that you’ve earned them, but karma doesn’t care what your intentions are”

Hi Pete! Here is your Daily Couple’s Horoscope for Friday, August 27
“You’re super-focused on taking action, but taking a break might serve your twosome’s needs much better. After all, what’s the point of charging ahead if you’re not actually sure what the next step should be just yet?”

Hi Pete! Here is your Daily Single’s Horoscope for Friday, August 27
“Are you really ready for love? Hidden emotions can — or should — come out now, and what you desire most can play off of reality in amazing ways. Send a few signs and make a few moves.”

1325) Everything Peachy and Relaxed

Today’s Plan:-

08:15 leave 48W, 09:00 Pathfinder at Connexions, buy foolscap suspension files, sweet corn, some stamps, print Winston quote and Connexions Action Plan, back in Kidlington give A4 suspension files to Sobell House, watch “The Normans” episode 1 on iplayer, email cousin, and other assorted jobs, including some HA (Home Activity) (housework, sorting, studying).

07:29, Today’s comments:- (803 Negotiating on my terms) Yes, interesting, perhaps I AM learning to take into account others’ needs and wishes, albeit my comprehension of others is still poor. Perhaps that’s not as important as respecting and honouring their wishes, whether I understand them or not.

13:37, Now back home again, and it has occurred to me that there are two major intersecting fault-lines in my personality. These two lines divide me into four aspects, all united and coordinated by a common faculty. The two axes are age and contentment. There’s a fault-line between Big Pete aged 54 and Little Pete aged 7, and another between Unbridled (there’s a play on words!) Enthusiasm and Extreme Grumpiness. All four aspects are held in check by a common authority, a rational, logical, analytical scientist, watching whether the contending aspects might one day be reconciled to each other. I could speculate as to what factors trigger the ascendancy of each aspect. The “world” triggers grumpiness, and becoming close to someone to whom I can open my heart triggers Little Pete. Unbridled Enthusiasm believes in the Baha’i Faith and is fully engaged with it, Extreme Grumpiness regards it with cynicism, disdain and condescension and is estranged from it. Little Pete want to connect with people and be close to someone, Big Pete wants to keep everyone at a safe distance. Aspects of life that require complete unanimity are in a stalemate of paralysis and inaction, such as earning a living. If I ask myself whether I am being true to my self, I am bound to ask, “Which one?”

18:47, Assuming that this is correct, and “Unbridled Enthusiasm” needs to insulate himself from the world, to seclude himself to protect himself from being caused to become “Extreme Grumpiness”, then how to do this? How about the following:-

“”Say: O concourse of monks! Seclude not yourselves in your churches and cloisters. Come ye out of them by My leave, and busy, then, yourselves with what will profit you and others. Thus commandeth you He Who is the Lord of the Day of Reckoning. Seclude yourselves in the stronghold of My love. This, truly, is the seclusion that befitteth you, could ye but know it. He that secludeth himself in his house is indeed as one dead. It behooveth man to show forth that which will benefit mankind. He that bringeth forth no fruit is fit for the fire. Thus admonisheth you your Lord; He, verily, is the Mighty, the Bountiful.” (Baha’u’llah, “Epistle to the Son of the Wolf”, page” 49)

If the world makes me grumpy by suggesting I am not loved, then turn to Him, Pete, for love, where the strong ones of the earth have no dominion:-

“6:19 Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: 6:20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: 6:21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.” (King James Bible, Matthew)

“9. O SON OF BEING! My love is My stronghold; he that entereth therein is safe and secure, and he that turneth away shall surely stray and perish.” (Baha’u’llah, The Arabic Hidden Words)

And if anyone is incapable of understanding Baha’u’llah’s love for me, don’t tell them about it, Pete, just dwell on it continuously in your own heart. Seclude yourself like a monk within this secret chamber in your heart, and jolly well, lock yourself in like Julian of Norwich.

“32. O BEFRIENDED STRANGER! The candle of thine heart is lighted by the hand of My power, quench it not with the contrary winds of self and passion. The healer of all thine ills is remembrance of Me, forget it not. Make My love thy treasure and cherish it even as thy very sight and life.” (Baha’u’llah, The Persian Hidden Words)

If I succeed in doing this, and a measure of it is how nearly I obey His Commandments, since:-

“paragraph 4 Say: From My laws the sweet-smelling savour of My garment can be smelled, and by their aid the standards of Victory will be planted upon the highest peaks. The Tongue of My power hath, from the heaven of My omnipotent glory, addressed to My creation these words: “Observe My commandments, for the love of My beauty.” Happy is the lover that hath inhaled the divine fragrance of his Best-Beloved from these words, laden with the perfume of a grace which no tongue can describe. By My life! He who hath drunk the choice wine of fairness from the hands of My bountiful favour will circle around My commandments that shine above the Dayspring of My creation.” (Baha’u’llah, The Kitab-i-Aqdas, p. 20)

Even though its not yet on Ocean, I know that the House has advised us all to avoid distractions, and there is SO MUCH that distracts me from reciting His words, here in my flat, “in the morning and in the evening regularly” as Adib was want to say. Asking God to demonstrate His love to me by showing me the next clue in his treasure-hunt for His love, He seems to tell me to read “Mindsight” by Daniel Siegel which arrived this afternoon, and which was recommended by Pete Hulme. Little Pete was upset, however, since he wants to talk to someone, in lieu of being held by someone in their arms. The agonies of love-hunger! And reading a book is not easy here since all the lighting in my flat except the florescent strip-light in the bathroom, or the spot-lights in the kitchen are all crap. I need a bright anglepoise lamp, and there’s no one available to discuss getting one on the end of the phone.

19:33, I can read, if I turn the music off, and, using my reading glasses, sit in a comfy chair in front of the TV, with the wall light over my shoulder, but at the moment I feel SO angry, I can’t concentrate. The anger is for being abandoned. That is Little Pete’s perception, which is slow in dissipating.

22:12, After “Digging for Britain” with Dr Alice Roberts, “Grumpy Old Men” defined by the age group 35 to 54, which is exactly the gap beytween No 6 and me! Is the BBC psychic, or what?

Hi Pete! Here is your Daily Horoscope for Thursday, August 26
“You’re no stranger to creative energy or projects, so today’s big burst of good energy is perfectly welcome. You should immediately get started on something new and bold and splashy!”13:04, 25/8:- Everything peachy and hunky dory? Dunno, its still 25/8, not 26/8 yet! 00:41, 26/8:- I’ve become aware that I have been hypo-manic these last few days, and a good dose of sobriety is now called for. Something bold and splashy today? Why, Pete, why?

Hi Pete! Here is your Daily Single’s Horoscope for Thursday, August 26
“You’ve got some intense determination right now — but it’s essential to think about how you can focus it. Keep romantic business breezy, especially if things are just getting started.”00:45, 26/8 My determination is to do my utmost to win the good-pleasure of those, whose opinions I care about most, Baha’u’llah and … and when I identify behavior in myself that they would not approve of, to remedy it. 07:22, I suspect that both would rather that I buckle down to mundane taking care of business rather than indulging in flights of fancy, and also that I make progress in HA, explained above. THAT is something I’ve been putting off for months. I need to plan some priorities as regards “projects” and parcel off the time for the rest of the day doing that, when I return from town after shopping and Pathfinder.

Hi Pete! Here is your Daily Couple’s Horoscope for Thursday, August 26
“You may be feeling slightly quieter than usual, but you’re more than willing to hang out, especially if your sweetheart is involved. There’s nothing wrong; you’re just feeling a touch introspective at this moment.”00:44, 26/8, I would go along with this. 07:23, Its tempting ti continue to crave excitement and entertainment, but that would be pandering to superficial emotions and there’s lots of hard work to be done deeper down.

1324) O Man of Two Visions

01:40, 25/8:- I just dreamed that I was sitting next to … and about to listen to a media journalist spout forth, but when I had the chance, I purloined his sound equipment, i.e. the leads to his mike and loudspeakers. I was in trouble and proceeded to fall asleep in my seat at the theater, after the annoyed journalist took back his spaghetti. She felt enough was enough and asked me for a private chat to give me a talking to, but when I found her in a cafe nearby she had already notified the authorities, and a Dorothy was about to turn up to chair the discussion, and another third party made sure I wasn’t sitting too near her. I realized by this time that “I had been in a situation concerning the journalist that I didn’t know how to handle and needed help” and admitted as much out loud. She probably felt I needed the liquid cosh.

I woke up with an earwig on my chin. When I resumed a tub of yogurt, it fell in. I noticed it and scooped it up, and put in nearby, whence the earwig, struggled with all its might to extricate itself from the dollop of yogurt. When it had done so, it then squirmed a bit and then gave up the ghost. Who was or will be the earwig? The one in the theater next to whom I was sitting is her, named in the dream, but not identified above. Who is Dorothy? I don’t know, Pete, I just don’t know.

04:06. Talking about “I don’t know Pete, I just don’t know.” I just dreamed that she asked me about vits, with … looking on, watching and listening intently and I advised her that daily, 3000 of C and 1000 of B3 was necessary for a basic health, though many would disagree, and that I felt fine on 6000 and 3000, smiled to myself, and went back to my desk and then noticed that there were Matchbox ambulances everywhere and resolved to sell them all off.

04:20 TPV:- Boney M. just advised me to change course by 4.6 degrees in “Nightflight to Venus!” No 4, No 6? This is No 2, I want information, and I’ll get it by hook and by crook! You want to know who No 1 is? That’ll be Will Riker! Now, computer, “Tea, Earl Gray, Hot!” and “Data, Engage!”

05:05 I was thinking Ravel’s “In Paradisum” yesterday, and just now, and proceeded to create a “Spotify” play-list and copied it a few times, so taht it would play over and over. I counted that I copied it 6 times, making a list of 7 “In Paradisum”s, 7 paradises, 7 heavens, and noticed that the track starts with a 7, presumably track 7 in some compilation. I feel as if I might indeed be in a 7th heaven! The heaven of No 6 coming back as Bond, Jane Bond, 007, licensed to thrill me!

Plan for today:- Interview with a Connexions adviser to try to get help with psychometric testing to figure out my strengths and talents and the best career path. 13:00 MIND drop-in at the Kaleidoscope Centre. 19:45 St Ebbe’s church and a Christian meeting whose title I forget.

13:11, the Connexions interview went very well, and there are new irons in the fire, and more fish to fry. Now for Kaleidoscope and some free reflexology.

16:19, annoyingly the material I just typed over the last 15 minutes was not saved, so I’ll have to “pick myself up, brush myself down, and start all over again”. Reflexology for my feet was very good, made me feel very pampered and indulged and very much better, with my feet doused in oil including ginger and lavender. Also, I read this in today’s Metro:- “Old habits die hard. You seem to be struggling with yours. Answers can be found now. Don’t be afraid to talk to friends, some of whom seem to know you better than you know yourself lately.” So, old habits that need abandoning apart from accessing excessive lasciviousness, are easily identified. Apart from hitting the “milky milky” bottle, milk, yogurt, CNCF, Philadelphia cheese, meringues, there are other bad habits, like taking to much notice of astrology, spending too much time on the take on politics of Alex Jones rather than refraining from criticizing the considered views of those in authority, indulging in fantasies for which there is no empirical evidence with which to back up some superstitious perceptions, spending too much time on “TPV” ideas of reference which have no bearing on reality, and only indulge my idle fancies and vain imaginings. Whether I can succeed in abandoning such bad habits remains to be seen, and how long it will take for me to change my ways.

Connexions set new goals, await the e-mail Action Plan from the adviser, attend Pathfinder tomorrow to get clues into what jobs I might enjoy, create a new draft CV, do research on the Net into voluntary work and also people-job-roles, arrange a next appointment in October, save up £99 for a Connexions-subsidized Moresby psychometric testing to get more clues as to my aptitudes.

Next on today’s agenda are a meal, and prepare to leave at about 19:15 for a St Ebbe’s Christian meeting, to which I’ve been invited.

Bobby Kennedy, a man of two visions? Absolutely! He had a sense of what was morally right and correct in politics, for example black civil rights, but in his private life, could be ruthless in pushing his agenda, and immoral to an unbelievable extent in how he behaved sexually. Other crimes could be suspected but not necessarily proved, at the moment. On reading into “RFK, A Candid Biography”, he seemed to me sort of morally schizophrenic, or am I being melodramatic and unfair?

I wish I had an easier time trying to download the latest down-loadable documents onto my laptop. I have Windows Vista Basic and Microsoft office 2003, and trying to deal with documents associated with Windows 7 and Microsoft Office 2010 seems well nigh impossible.

04:25. I kid you not:-

Pete Baldwin:
Welcome to Your Daily Forecast for Aug 25, 2010

Take Those Vitamins

“Tend carefully to your health, no matter how busy you are. You’ll need your strength to stay on top of things. Unusual circumstances and even odder coincidences will be stressful, but you can certainly handle it if you stay flexible.”

I DO take my vits, religiously!

Stressful? How new to the TPV do you think I am. I wasn’t born to it, yesterday! I’ve been keenly aware of the TPV since 1976, when you were one, albeit it scared me to death the first time.

Love
“It will be far too easy for them to fall off the pedestal you erected. You can prevent that by convincing yourself that imperfection is what makes us interesting to others.”

Don’t you realize that its your faults as well as your virtues that caused me to put you up their in the first place? There’s no where to fall, because you’re on top of the pedestal right where you are, i.e. on my level, looking me in the eye, standing with your feet firmly of the same ground as me, albeit I’m worshiping the ground YOU’RE standing on, not the spot a foot away where I’m standing.

Energy
“It will be all too easy for you to zig, and then discover shortly after that you should have zagged. The solution? Follow only one path: the straight and narrow.”

Uhuh! As Amy Pond found in episode 11 of Dr Who, “The Lodger”, operating the zig-zag pointer is tricky, and to avoid dieing in the TPV one has to take two steps towards right-brain creativity. Wanna dance, lady? The military two-step?

Career
“Still not sure what to be when you grow up? Think back to when you were a kid. Fireman? Movie star? It’s not impossible. Not if you really want it.”

Astronaut, the first on Mars, courtesy of the CSA (Chinese Space Agency)? At 54, I’m probably a bit too old, doncha think?

Hi Pete! Here is your Daily Horoscope for Wednesday, August 25
“You need to open up your heart a little more — but the universe is helping you out with that! Whether you’re single, long-partnered or somewhere in between, a little romance is perfect just now.”

How about “I love you”. Is that little bit of romance sufficient, just now?

Hi Pete! Here is your Daily Couple’s Horoscope for Wednesday, August 25
“The gift for truly accepting one’s feelings is a rare one and you have it. You can understand the range of human emotions, all without losing that necessary inner sense of balance. That’s invaluable in a relationship.”

Thank you very much!

Hi Pete! Here is your Daily Single’s Horoscope for Wednesday, August 25
“All your sweet complexity is enhanced by your good energy now, and that makes you endlessly fascinating and awesomely enticing to the right people. You’ve definitely got a way with words now, so reach out and use it!”

So, a Baha’i is seen to chase excessive lasciviousness, and to chase holy live lasciviousness; okay, well, if I must choose, since a man cannot serve two masters, as pointed out by Jesus, I will choose the later and give up on chasing excessive lasciviousness in preference to a chaste and holy life, in which the sexual impulse is limited to what is lawful under the law of God. Is that better? I think so. Today is the first day of the rest of my life. Am I pleasing to you at all, yet, as you have been to me for the last 4 years? I hope so!

1323) Mundane mediocrity, nothing unusual
like being loved by anyone!
Hi Pete! Here is your Daily Single’s Horoscope for Tuesday, August 24
“Sweet action (of more than one kind) is a distinct possibility right now! Hit the parties and venues that offer the most fun and the hottest new faces, and just enjoy yourself — sparks are flying all around.”

Nope, nothing, just a pleasant relaxing day at Restore, approaching finishing painting my “Coalition Stool” in yellow and blue, where Firzana was conspicuously wearing all black. And afterward, just mundane procuring of woolly socks and 20 A4 suspension files, and Sainsbury’s groceries. By the time I was at Sainsbury’s Kidlington, I was feeling angry and hateful again, and bought a stash of dairy and refined carbs, which I tucked into at home. When drunk with dairy, “Milky. milky!” I went to sleep to sleep it off, waking up besotted again crying for the Moon, I rang Steve and inflicted some verbiage on him, then went back to sleep to dream of journalists and trouble, and woke up tomorrow with an earwig.

Hi Pete! Here is your Daily Couple’s Horoscope for Tuesday, August 24
“Important information about your relationship comes from an unexpected and surprising source. The trick is to be open to hearing it. The stars say to keep your eyes, ears and, most importantly, your heart wide open.”

Its 01:46 on 25/8, and information is as conspicuous by its absence as it always has been, though I haven’t checked my WordPress stats since this morning! Anyway, the perennial question – what relationship? Perhaps Steve was prepared to tell me something but felt the timing was off due to my being preoccupied with “issues” of Little Pete and of Alex Jones. He said that Alex Jones was infringing his human rights, though I don’t quite understand that statement, being thick myself.

Hi Pete! Here is your Daily Horoscope for Tuesday, August 24
“You’re getting some weird, dreamy — but powerful — energy today, and you might just need to let it have its way with you rather than trying to control it. Things may get a lot weirder soon!”

Really? I like weird and wonderful but I’m not too keen on not being in control, being a control freak ‘n’ all!

1322) Go East, Young Man!

In accessing and installing “Spotify” as prompted and inspired by Ash, I created several play-lists including much incidental music from “Total Recall”, a film that, with its Jerry Goldsmith musical soundtrack and Philip K Dick story-line, and Paul Verhoffen directorship, not to mention Sharon Stone and Arnie himself as the principal actors. I have been meaning to find the China tablet and WPC it, (create a Word document of it and print it out at a local library), intending to recite it twice a day. I came across my China folder just now in my filing cabinet and found the China Tablet, and proceeded to create that Word document as Goldsmith’s music flooded out of my laptop speakers, and I burst into a profusion of tears. This is my destiny to go East, its not the first time I’ve felt it and it won’t be the last.

Where is the reactor on Mars? Its under Olympus Mons, the biggest volcano in the Solar System. Where were the Olympic Games held? Where is the Delphic Oracle? Who can tell me how to start the reactor to release the gem sin my inmost self? Who indeed! Anyone sighted the Galley Freeing Time Lord lately? Does He need a new assistant, at the moment? What was the track playing when I choked up? “The Mutant”! Quato was Arnie’s Oracle. I need to find mine, and start the reactor inside, to terraform Mars. Metaphorically, of course.

Its clear that its confusing to mix up horoscopes for one day, with perceptions of another, so I’ll separate them out in future:- here’s teh readings relevant for “today” (23/8):-

Hi Pete! Here is your Daily Horoscope for Monday, August 23
“Watch out for domestic troubles — they can get in the way of your plans right now. It’s a good day for you to step back from it all and let your rational mind take over. Things should improve quickly”. The emotional issues of Little Pete are back on the back burner, and mundane chores dealt with to make sure that there are no domestic troubles impinging on me at all. The bike is now fixed again, puncture and slime tube dealt with, mudguard stays secured with plastic ties, back brake system functioning well again.

Hi Pete! Here is your Daily Couple’s Horoscope for Monday, August 23
“Inspiration hits in a big way today, and you ought to be able to get your partner to go along with your hot new idea. Try to make sure you’re not just retracing old steps, though!” Well the “Mars/China” incident was pretty inspiring, re-iterating my experience of approximately Saturday 17th February 2007 in Coventry at the National Tutor’s Conference in the Britannia Hotel. At the St Ebbe’s meeting on the “bread of life”at Open Door, it occured to me that the fruits of the spirit as defined by the Apostle Paul (joy, happiness, contentment, peace, love) which seemed conspicuous by their absence in the spring, are now increasingly evident in my heart, which is nice!

Hi Pete! Here is your Daily Single’s Horoscope for Monday, August 23
“You’re not focusing on any particular state for now — in fact, you’re probably all over the map! Remember that any negative feelings about any one person could change in a heartbeat!” Dealing with multiple issues at the moment; the emotional psychological issues are on the back burner again, and other more mundane issues are to the fore, bike servicing, further whistle-blowing concerning the”usual suspects”, studying at Christian meetings, being organized. In parallel, these concurrent issues are compartmentalized and dealt with serially, like multi-tasking, but dealing with multiple tasks one after the other. No confusion. And no negative feelings about anyone at the moment, not even Dad.
